Studio canvas — shortcuts and controls
The Brand Studio board is an infinite canvas: you pan and zoom to move between flow groups, steps, and guidelines. These gestures apply while you’re in the studio editor (after opening a project).
Pan (move the view)
| Action | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Trackpad | Two-finger scroll moves the canvas (pan). |
| Mouse wheel | Behavior depends on wheel mode (often zoom with a notch wheel; trackpad-style deltas pan). Use Shift + wheel for a deliberate pan if your device sends wheel events as zoom. |
| Middle mouse button | Hold middle click and drag to pan (same idea as many design tools). |
| Space + drag | Hold Space, then click and drag with the left mouse button to pan. Release Space or the mouse button to stop. Cursor shows a hand while Space is held. |
Zoom
| Action | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Pinch (trackpad) | Pinch to zoom toward the pointer. |
| Ctrl / ⌘ + scroll | Zoom the canvas toward the cursor (does not change the browser’s page zoom). Pinch on many trackpads is reported as Ctrl/⌘ + wheel. |
| Zoom toolbar | Use − / + on the canvas zoom dock to zoom toward the viewport center. |
Scrolling inside cards
Long content in a card (body, preview pane, markdown editor, or code blocks) scrolls inside that card. When your wheel or trackpad reaches the top or bottom of that scroll area, the gesture does not chain to panning or zooming the whole canvas—you stay in the card until you move the pointer or release the wheel.
Use Space + wheel (hand tool) over a card if you intentionally want the wheel to move the viewport instead of the card.
While Space is held (hand tool)
So panning with Space + drag feels reliable, Majico treats Space like a temporary hand tool:
- Wheel / trackpad scroll over scrollable content inside a card pans or zooms the canvas instead of scrolling that card. Release Space to scroll card bodies again.
- Selecting text inside cards is suppressed (you won’t start a highlight drag). You can still edit inputs, textareas, and code/markdown editors as usual—those fields keep normal selection while focused.
- Native drag of non-text controls inside the canvas is suppressed while Space is held, except inside real text fields.
If focus is in a text field (step title, textarea, etc.), Space types a space character instead of arming the hand tool.
Other tips
- Click empty canvas background to clear selection (unless you’re holding Shift for multi-select).
- Shift + drag on the canvas draws a marquee selection rectangle (with compatible cards).
- Delete / Backspace removes selected canvas elements when focus is not in a text field.
Pulse widgets
When Pulse is linked to your project (POST /api/projects/{id}/pulse), you can place live widgets on the board:
- Top posts — real engagement from your synced X timeline (not placeholder data).
- Tweet draft — after you pick a variant via Cursor MCP or the agent rail.
See Pulse on canvas and Cursor MCP.
